TypeMatrix 2030 Promo video – Amazing computer keyboard!
Posted on
This is the promo video for the TypeMatrix 2030 computer keyboard. It has many brilliant changes, such as moving the Enter and Backspace keys to the center, so you can use your pointer fingers instead of killing your pinkies all the time. Visit typematrix.com for more info. To some of the commenters "2030" is the model number of the keyboard, not the year!

Let me tell you… I switched to this keyboard many years ago and I would never go back. I love this thing!!!!!!!!! t takes just a little getting used to, but once you do, you’ll hate regular keyboards. I also tried learning Dvorak… man, that was really hard… I quit, unfortunately. But for this KB… LOVE IT!!!!!!

Ridiculous, honestly.

Moi je l’ai acheté et j’en suis content. Je l’ai choisi complètement vierge et je le fais marcher en bépo.

why don’t they use better keys for that keyboard??

some good points and good ideas — but can a square grid be the answer if the lower arms are in an “upside-down V” shape when you reach in front of you? The individual keys should have a similar “upside-down V” offset so the fingers can follow the columns better..
I’d prefer to have two Keyboard halves like the Kinesis Freestyle!

@1felagund: According to a study women need about 2-3 weeks and men one to two weeks longer to get accustomed to this keyboard. You can download the PDF with details on the study from their website.

NikkyyyHD: Me neither. I’m using the NEO2 keyboard layout, specialized for German and programming.

@albedoshader Yes well I don’t press the Backspace key with my little finger anyway and my hand isn’t in the same position while i’m typing
December 13th, 2011 - 02:22
@NikkyyyHD: Yes, but it is more prone to suffer from too much strain, which is what the new layout is about.
December 13th, 2011 - 03:08
@TotaleVerkankering: You get used to new layouts pretty fast.

@MarijnvdZaag: simply because staggered keyboards need the hands to type in an asymmetrical fashion. Split keyboards just accommodate the main problem by rotating complete blocks of the keyboard while keeping the reason for the problems, staggered keys, intact. Contrary to intuition the matrix layout solves the problems at once because the asymmetrical staggering between left and right hand is eliminated.

@cainisme Be that as it me, why go to the trouble of typing this upside down?
December 13th, 2011 - 04:52
wish I could have my laptop set up like this.
Oh well, I’m still buying it.
December 13th, 2011 - 05:16
@Magnemitey I think one month max of getting used to a new layout is hardly going to kill you. On the other hand, the most illogical layout QWERTY being the de facto standard for so long does inure your hands, reduce efficacy and productiveness and comfort.
It’s like saying DST (Daylight Saving Time) is such a hassle but in the end it does serve its purpose.

started using TypeMatrix keyboards 5 years ago and never looked back.
December 13th, 2011 - 06:30
THIS IS RIPPING PPLS MONEY. I CAN TURN THE KEYBOARD UPSIDE DOWN AND SELL IT.
December 13th, 2011 - 07:20
How is putting your eight fingers in a short, horizontal line comfortable? The TypeMatrix is pretty nice, but I don’t want my keyboard to be a straight plank. I use an ergonomic (split) keyboard, because I have a right hand and a left hand. The people at TypeMatrix overlooked the fact those hands are very different…

yeah take a keyboard, change the place of all the characters so you need to learn them all over again, great for boring vacations!
December 13th, 2011 - 08:26
The little finger can stretch further than the “strong finger”
December 13th, 2011 - 09:23
fuck off ass hole.. OMG! sorry for the bad words, i thought it says hello everyone.. still new to my Dvorak..
