so its a laptop with a tiny screen, probably really slow components(because you cant fit much into that), as a keyboard thats pretty cool having a screen on it for lets say macros. but a computer in a pc. i dont think its a good idea.
Sigh, I hope you choke on your profiteering-earned steak Steve Jobs, this is all your fault =(.
Why is tactile so popular now, typing texts on an iPhone is stupid, if you have nails (which a lot of their fashion obsessed customers do) the screen doesn’t respond. I defy anyone to write a text quicker on that glamour-model piece of crap than I can on a keypad.
Love the ideas of mac, HATE THE COMPANY, when I can use an iPod without itunes, use any contract and have a keypad AND touch I’ll buy.
@sookster54 yes i remember some of those models. i’m waiting for the return of 5.25″ floppy. retro style, with vga port, serial, parallel, ps/2. while macbook air will probably get even thinner and lighter with usb 3.0 ports. i think this is the best ANUS could come up with to “KILLL” MBA lol
Interesting concept, but the fact that it ships with Windows (XP at that) is where it’ll fail, it’d probably be better off with Android or Meego or a mobile type of OS. The LCD part looks like a silly part of the device.
If I was a head designer for asus I would get rid of the screen, give it illuminated keys, battery, hdmi, usb, wifi, card reader, bluetooth mouse or integrated touchpad or trackball and sell it in a reasonable price as an awesome living room gadget for browsing internet on your lcd/plasma or whatever tv. Otherwise i find it useless.

January 25th, 2012 - 23:35

Why the fuck wouldn’t you just make it a tablet? A tablet could sport a battery, and the screen wouldn’t be so tiny that’s its unusable…

@GarbageState You mean so “1980′s”, remember the Amiga 1200, Comodore 64, ZX80, etc? This isn’t new, just the LCD onboard display is the difference.
